Photos from our class!

We are getting ready for an exciting chemistry demo!

My students won first place in district for the door decor!

Students calculated approximate speed and checked results against a speed gun.

Students "adopted" elements. They researched their elements and shared their knowledge with posters.

This is an incredible team-building exercise. It also gives students experience with giving and following directions.

Students came up with abiotic and biotic factors during a nature walk, and then each other to fill out Venn diagrams with the factors.

Students working together to build a structure.

I served on the Lighthouse Team, and collaborated with students to create this board.

Students looked for fungi and algae on the forest floor

We demonstrated how to play a game about biodiversity. Students had a ball later playing and learning about invasive species.

My 8th grade students were capable of doing very advanced coursework. I find students will rise towards my expectations.

We studied the significance of Pi, and then hurled pies at each other.

I implemented coding lessons during the year. I feel that programming helps students develop critical thinking skills, and eases fear of failure.

Students worked in teams to design and build mini grow houses for their seedlings.

Students participated in a money drive for the American Heart Association. They were taxed with finding the amount of pennies, solely by using methods learned in class. (Not counting!) They utilized displacement to find the volume, and then measured the mass of a specific volume of pennies. They were within 10 cents of the actual number!

Basic lab illustrating water's cohesive properties.

They are made of non-recyclable plastic, so we used them to plant seeds.
